Background

Being born on Earth was one of the worst things that could happen to anyone. Earth had become into an apocalyptical planet. Natural disasters had destroyed major economic centers, people began creating chaos, and no one seemed to care anymore. There was a lack of resources, homes, and even oxygen itself was getting harmful with all of the infections that were in the air. I was living in the old, dusty state of Kansas, more specifically in Kansas City. My family couldn't afford any food because the lack of food resources was so big, prices were impossible to acquire for a family like us: stuck in the middle class, with only a working father. But then, like if God of the skies (which I think he was), a miracle was given to my family: the future. President White was starting a new, spacial program which hired young men, like myself, to go work on a government center that trained kids for what was going to be the future of the human race. Even though I was skeptical, my parents ended up convincing me of saving myself and saving the human race from extinction. And so I left, I departed to my new life. Years followed, and I was already first in my class of the spatial training in the NASA. As I turned 27, I was already captain of my own small crew, the Lizard Squad. Alongside other squads, we were going to be sent to a far away galaxy, with nothing else but fear of the unknown. Where were we heading exactly? What was out there for us? Would we succeed? I was expected to lead a crew of 250 members into outer space. The day of the take off finally came.

10.. 9.. 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. Take off.

Our departure was hard, but I felt nothing else but adrenaline running in my veins: we were about to make history. Once we left the atmosphere, we were immediately commanded by the NASA Chief to go to our cryosleep beds, which would stop us from aging in the 90 year trip. I sent a message to my now aged parents, to whom I said I was sorry for abandoning them, but I promised I'd accomplish what they asked me: save the human race.

"Welcome to the Beagle Frontier XI Captain Saul. Don't worry, feeling dizzy is a normal symptom. You've been asleep for 89 years now." Those were the words that woke me up. Those were the most reassuring words I had ever heard in my life; we had made it to our new home. We settled into what was a weird place, a place without any sort of safety for us. A new place. We began building our provisional homes, building a camp, and staying together. Patrols were sent to scout a couple of miles, 3 as a max, to secure the area every 30 minutes. Once the communications center was set, we attempted to make contact back home. We failed. The days passed, and we had no way of contacting home. But once again, like if it was God from the skies, a miracle came to us: the Infinity Knights. Who were this random people? What did they want from us? Were they hostile? Admiral Sai introduced himself, he said that they had a message from Earth. How was that possible? He said they had restored Earth's disasters, made the planet flourish again as it once was. He asked for me, not knowing who I was. I introduced myself to him. He congratulated me and said that his crew was looking for men like me, men who would strive for a cause, a good cause. I said I'd think about; I couldn't leave my people without guidance. He told me to contact him when I was ready, and they departured. Where? I don't know. Probably to save another planet.

I had to figure stuff out first. We had to set a form of government, but I needed help. We split up in 5 clans, all having a region. We'd respect that region, and respect our most precious law: democratic forms of governing. I took Genesis Clan, I had lives under my responsibility, once again, but I vowed to make this people flourish. And eventually we did. Advancements were made, and we could finally contact Earth. We also communicated and traded with other planets in our same star system, Shotoku. We were given the opportunity to return to the New Earth but we refused. We were happy here, and our race could expand even more than from it was now. This was definitely the biggest accomplishment of all human history. Every clan was prosperous, everyone was happy, we all lived under a peaceful utopia. So this was it, my time as clan leader was over. I was ready to take my biggest challenge yet: join the Infinity Knight and help others in need throughout the whole galaxy, fighting crime, and bringing justice to every people, planet, and nation. This was it.

I contacted Admiral Sai, who said he'd come for me after he'd finish a mission he had in another stelar system. I had to leave someone in charge. I had the option of leaving someone of my own liking, but I decided to let the people decide. But before doing such thing, I had to inform the other clans about my departure of Planet Glaanus. We met in the last day of the month in the neutral region, where I said my "good-byes". I got a tribute for all my hard work I had done in the foundation of our planet, of our home. Questions arised. Would I be back? Would I remember them? Of course, I replied, I'd be back in no time. I just had to challenge myself. Tearfully, I packed, and waited impatiently. And then there they were: the Infinity Knights. This is how I joined the Infinity Knights
